Our client is a well-established and growing business based in Geebung, supplying products and services to a broad range of industries across Australia and international markets. Operating within a fast-paced environment, they manage diverse procurement activities across heavy machinery spare parts, food products, building materials and other industrial commodities, with a solid focus on export operations.
Your new role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end procurement function and ensuring products are sourced, purchased and delivered to meet customer and business requirements.
Your duties will include:
- Raising and processing purchase orders across multiple product categories
- Sourcing products from local and international suppliers
- Liaising with suppliers regarding pricing, availability and lead times
- Coordinating export shipments and working closely with freight forwarders and logistics providers
- Monitoring orders and ensuring on-time delivery to customers
- Managing supplier relationships and resolving supply issues
- Maintaining accurate purchasing records within the ERP system
- Supporting inventory management and stock replenishment activities
- Working closely with internal stakeholders to meet customer expectations and project deadlines
This is a high-volume role suited to someone who thrives under pressure, can manage competing priorities and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in a Purchasing Officer, Procurement Officer or Supply Chain role
- Strong administration and organisational skills
- Experience processing purchase orders and managing supplier relationships
- Exposure to freight, logistics, export or international purchasing activities will be highly regarded
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office
- The ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- A proactive approach and strong problem-solving capabilities
