Secondary Dean of Studies

Carmichael College is a Prep to Year 12 co-educational, non-denominational Christian College situated in Morayfield.

Carmichael College invites applications from qualified, experienced and passionate Christian leaders to commence this role in Term 1, 2027.

The Secondary Dean of Studies is responsible for providing operational leadership to ensure the Secondary School delivers high fidelity, aligned, equitable and transparent academic programs for all students. This key leaderships position works strategically in close consultation with the Head of Secondary and other relevant leaders at the College. In this role you will:

- Oversee the operational management of Secondary Heads of Department.

- Work closely with the Principal and College Leadership Team to lead, initiate and contribute to designing developing and articulating the academic direction.

- Record and track QCE/QCIA data for successful graduation of Carmichael College students.

- Construct and manage block exam timetables for Years 10-12, including staff supervisions and invigilators, room changes, alternate exam room for students with additional needs, and roll marking.

- Oversee the AARA process for the Senior School.

- Manage the development of Senior school unit plans, particularly in reference to assessment and QCAA/ATAR/NSSAB compliance.

- Monitor compliance with ACARA requirements and support professional development of growth for teachers in those areas.

- Design the annual Secondary timetable.

About You

- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with College Leadership to shape, communicate, and commit to a shared educational and eternal vision.

- Robust sense of initiative,



particularly within area of responsibility and in matching with the vision and mission of the College.

- Deep understanding and integration of a Biblical Worldview in both educational practice and leadership.

- Up-to-date knowledge of current relevant Christian education practices and trends.

- Highly developed communication, administrative, and interpersonal skills, enabling effective engagement with staff, students, and families.

- Ability to lead Christian devotions and staff meetings, nurturing spiritual growth and unity within the team.

- Willingness to support classroom needs as required, including stepping in to teach or assist when staff are unavailable.

Applicants must be registered with the Queensland College of Teachers.
