About the opportunity
Unison Solar Energy is building its capabilities in Australian solar manufacturing and is looking for a junior engineer to contribute to the next phase of our technology and manufacturing development. This is an opportunity to work on projects that directly support the development, testing and improvement of solar cells, modules, materials and manufacturing processes.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary Research & Development (R&D;) team, you will have the opportunity to turn technical knowledge into practical outcomes while developing your career in the renewable energy industry. Develop your skills across PV technology, product development and manufacturing
Solar Cell & Materials: Support R&D; projects involving solar cells, materials and emerging photovoltaic (PV) technologies, conducting laboratory experiments and analysing experimental results.
Module & Product Development: Contribute to PV module development, testing and validation, working across product performance, reliability and technical investigations.
Manufacturing & Process Development: Work with R&D;, Engineering, Production and Quality teams to support equipment testing, troubleshooting and process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Support the research, development and testing of PV technologies, solar cells, modules and related materials.
- Conduct laboratory experiments, product testing and data analysis.
- Support product development, validation and manufacturing process improvement activities
- Assist with laboratory and pilot-scale equipment operation,
testing and troubleshooting.
- Analyse experimental results and prepare technical reports and documentation.
- Collaborate with R&D;, Engineering, Production and Quality teams on technical investigations and improvement activities.
What you will bring
- Bachelor's degree in Renewable Energy, Electrical, Materials, Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
- Exposure to PV or solar technologies through industry experience, research, laboratory work, university projects or thesis work.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and data analysis skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
