We are seeking a capable and reliable Chef/Cook to support a busy kitchen at a unique venue in the scenic Bulli Tops area.
The role will initially commence on a casual basis, helping to cover gaps. The length of the assignment is currently unknown, so we are looking for someone available for approximately 35 hours per week who is also open to a potential permanent opportunity.
For an experienced Sous Chef, there may be an opportunity to transition into a permanent part time position.
About the role
You will ideally spend your first week training alongside the Head Chef to become familiar with the menu, kitchen and day-to-day operations. Once settled, you will work independently for approximately one to two days per week, allowing the Head Chef to take rostered time off.
There will be some crossover with the Head Chef, but much of the role will involve working independently. You will need to be confident managing food preparation, cooking and general kitchen operations without constant supervision.
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience as a Chef, Cook or Sous Chef
- Confidence working independently and managing a kitchen during service
- Availability for approximately 35 hours per week
- Flexibility across the venue’s operating days and hours
- Strong food preparation, cooking and time-management skills
- A good understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene
- Reliable, calm and able to manage competing priorities
- Available to commence as soon as possible
Due to the Bulli Tops location and limited public transport options, your own reliable transport is essential.
This role offers consistent hours, initial training with an experienced Head Chef and the opportunity to take ownership of the kitchen during independent shifts. If you’re looking for immediate work with the possibility of something longer term, we would love to hear from you.
