Safety Coordinator – Perth
About Kenny Constructions
Kenny Constructions is an Australian construction company delivering complex projects across Australia, with expertise spanning infrastructure, civil and high-rise construction.
With significant growth planned in Western Australia, we are expanding our Perth team and are looking for a Safety Coordinator to support our projects and help maintain a strong, proactive safety culture across the business.
The Role
Reporting to the Safety Manager, the Safety Coordinator will provide day-to-day support across our Perth projects, working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, Supervisors and subcontractors to ensure safety standards are consistently maintained.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being on site, building relationships with project teams and taking a proactive approach to health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and ongoing management of WHS policies, procedures and systems
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety observations
- Assist with incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions
- Support project teams with SWMS, JHAs, risk assessments and safety documentation
- Monitor compliance with relevant legislation, standards and project requirements
- Assist with site inductions, toolbox talks and safety training
- Work closely with supervisors and subcontractors to identify and address safety risks
- Maintain accurate safety records and reporting
- Assist with the preparation and review of safety documentation
- Promote a proactive safety culture across all levels of the project team
- Provide practical safety advice and support to site-based teams
About You
We’re looking for someone who is practical, approachable and confident working with construction teams.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a Safety Coordinator, HSE Coordinator or similar role within construction
- Relevant WHS/OHS qualification
- Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation and construction safety requirements
- Experience conducting site inspections and safety audits
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to work autonomously while also being part of a wider project team
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to safety
- White Card and relevant site tickets
- Current Australian working rights
