Crystalaid Manufacture is an Australian-based manufacturer of products including aerospace, defence, biometrics, identity solutions and is the only mobile biometric hardware manufacturer in Australia. Crystalaid is a trusted micro-electronics build-to-print manufacturer with extensive experience in producing high-complexity electronics for mission-critical applications. About the role

As an Associate Production Engineer (DFM), you will gain hands on experience across multiple facets of our manufacturing and assembly process. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to a thriving business.

As part of this role you will develop skills in

o Accurate production assembly of a wide range of products

o Production testing, quality control and final inspection

o Documentation, traceability and reporting

In addition to core production duties, this position provides an chance to develop your design-related capability under guidance, with a focus on understanding design for manufacture, interpreting technical drawings and specifications, contributing to build documentation, and identifying practical improvements that support efficient, repeatable and high-quality production outcomes.

You will bring strong attention to detail, practical technical ability, and a genuine commitment to quality. You are comfortable following production documentation, work instructions, and relevant procedures, and you understand the high value placed on producing work to a consistently high standard. You are hardworking, reliable, and willing to contribute across all stages of production. With a positive attitude and a willingness to learn, you take direction well, ask questions when needed, and are motivated to build your technical capability over time. Note: Candidates must satisfactorily pass a National Police Clearance, Baseline Security Check and medical checks including drug & alcohol screening before a formal offer of employment is provided.

Key Responsibilities

· Learn, take direction, ask questions and build technical capability over time

· Complex electronic assembly, inspection, testing and production support

· Performing hand soldering to IPC-A-610 Class 3 soldering of both Through-hole (THT) and Surface-Mount (SMT) technology electronic components

· AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) machine operation, X-Ray Operation, Conformal Coating Operation and Machine Maintenance

· Quality: Maintaining accurate production documentation, records, traceability & evidence of completed work

· Supporting quality, safety and compliance requirements in all production activities

· Training and develop design-for-manufacture understanding under guidance

· Assisting with build documentation, technical drawings, work instructions and process improvement activities

Skills and Experience

· Relevant degree in Engineering or related field (preferred).

· Interest in developing design knowledge, particularly design for manufacture, build documentation and practical production improvement.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, safety and compliance.

· Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

· Good communication & teamwork skills, with the ability to work across production, quality & engineering functions.

· Strong problem-solving skills in immediate production situations and longer-term improvement activities.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

· Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, solutions-focused approach.

· Knowledge of industry standards (AS9100S or ISO9001) an advantage
