About the role
This is a rare opportunity for a career-focused chef to make an impact in a highly anticipated new restaurant. The role involves working closely with the Sous and Head Chefs, alongside the management team to prepare dishes in a seasonal, balanced, contemporary and dynamic offering. The chefs will live company values of development, quality, inclusivity, community and sustainability.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare dishes in a seasonal, balanced, contemporary and agile offering
- Work closely with the Sous and Head Chefs and management team
- Uphold operating systems and values to ensure the restaurant remains an industry leader
- Contribute creative input in menu development
- Work a versatile day/night, seven day roster

About us
Trader House is a collective of restaurants, bars, and specialty retail stores by Melbourne-based chef, cookbook author and columnist Andrew McConnell and photographer Jo McGann. They include Gimlet at Cavendish House, Apollo Inn, Cutler & Co., Supernormal, Cumulus Inc., Marion, Builders Arms Hotel, Bar Miette,
Meatsmith Heritage Butcher and Morning Market. Supernormal Brisbane is the first venue for Trader House outside of its Melbourne home. The restaurant, designed by Sydney-based architects ACME, is a warm, textured, light-filled space with high ceilings and glass frontage to make the most of its incredible riverfront location. Supernormal Brisbane's menu features classics from its Melbourne counterpart, alongside new dishes that explore local produce and connect with Queensland's farmers, fishers and foragers.
