Power and Water Corporation is a Northern Territory Government (NTG) owned utility that operates across a geographic area of 1.3 million square kilometres, spanning the arid deserts of Central Australia to the tropical monsoon regions of the Top End. The Corporation generates, transmits and distributes electricity, while providing water and wastewater services to urban centres, remote communities and Aboriginal communities across the Northern Territory.

About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Leader for our Power Services Asset Quality and Standards team in Asset Management function. The team is responsible for development and maintenance of asset quality and standards for our transmission and distribution network as well as for our remote power stations, ensuring the ongoing delivery of reliable and sustainable power to Territorians.

As the Manager for Asset Quality and Standards, you get the opportunity to shape the future of technology and standards applied in Northern Territory’s power systems. You will provide people and technical leadership to the team that oversees the development and adoption of commercial and industry best practice network and equipment standards to achieve asset objectives of safe, reliable and compliant network now and in the future. A key element of this role is to drive innovation and continual improvement to the solutions applied in our power system. It covers assets across small scale remote generation, transmission, distribution networks including renewable technology solutions.

About You:

You will bring experience in asset and equipment technology management within an asset-intensive industry, together with strong analytical, technical and stakeholder engagement skills. Most importantly, you will have the ability to translate complex engineering challenges into practical, risk-based solutions that deliver long-term value for both the business and the communities we serve.

To succeed in this role, you will hold the following mandatory qualifications, skills and experience:

- Mandatory minimum 3 or 4 year Science or Engineering degree recognised in Australia.

- Demonstrated application of knowledge of industry standards and technology applied in power systems, especially in transmission networks, distribution networks and remote isolated small power generation systems.





- Experience in developing and implementing governance and assurance frameworks for technical assurance across power system asset lifecycle.

- Highly developed financial and people management skills

- Highly developed problem solving and analysis skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g. macros) or other database tools

- Experience in application of Safety-In-Design principles, engineering change control and technical risk assessment.

- Experience in analysis of asset failures, condition and performance
