Position Type: Permanent Full-Time (9 day fortnight, 36.25 hours/week)

Salary Range: LGO3 ($78,412 - $84,646 per annum + superannuation) based on skills, qualifications and experience

Location: Townsville

About the Role:

As the Health, Safety and Training Support Officer, you’ll play a key role in supporting Council’s commitment to creating a safe, capable and high-performing workforce. Working within a customer-focused environment, you will provide administrative and coordination support for a range of health, safety and training activities, helping to ensure employees have access to the learning and development opportunities they need to succeed.

In this varied role, you will support the health, safety & training team in administrative functions, including coordinating safety training programs from start to finish, including scheduling, stakeholder liaison, record management, reporting and supplier engagement. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to maintain accurate records, support compliance requirements and deliver efficient health, safety & training administration that contributes to Council’s goal of ensuring everyone goes home safe today.

- Experience providing high-quality customer service to a range of stakeholders.
- A commitment to workplace health, safety and compliance.
- Strong organisational, time management and prioritisation skills.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines.
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.




- Well-developed skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- The ability to quickly learn and use a variety of business systems and software.
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on maintaining accurate records and information.

* The Council contribution to employees' superannuation for contributing employees shall be 13.5% of the employees' ordinary time earnings subject to the employee contributing a minimum of 6% of their ordinary time earnings.
