About the role

Drive Personnel is seeking skilled FIFO - HD Fitters to join our team supporting mining operations across Western Australia including the Gold Fields region. Working on a FIFO (Fly-In, Fly-Out), workshop based basis, you will be integral to keeping heavy equipment and machinery operating at peak efficiency on site. This role represents a key opportunity to contribute to the operational success of major mining projects whilst maintaining work-life balance through the flexibility of casual employment.

Key responsibilities

- Performing routine maintenance, repairs, and fitting work on heavy-duty mining equipment and machinery

- Diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic faults and implementing timely solutions to minimise downtime

- Assembling, disassembling, and reassembling components with precision and attention to detail

- Conducting preventative maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability and safety compliance

- Collaborating with site supervisors and other trades to coordinate maintenance activities and project schedules

- Maintaining comprehensive maintenance records and documentation for all work completed

- Adhering to all health, safety, and environmental protocols on site

- Operating and utilising fitting tools and equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards

What we're looking for

- Current HD Fitter qualification or equivalent recognised certification in heavy diesel fitting or mechanical engineering

- Proven experience working as an HD Fitter in mining, resources, or heavy equipment maintenance environments

- Robust knowledge of hydraulic systems, mechanical systems, and diesel engines

- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals with confidence

- Competency in using standard fitting tools and diagnostic equipment





- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

- A valid driving licence and willingness to work on a FIFO roster basis

- Strong commitment to health and safety practices and compliance with mining site regulations

- Desirable: Experience with specific mining equipment brands or previous FIFO work in Western Australian mining operations
