About the opportunity
Join Mercy Health's Research Unit within the Office of the Chief Medical Officer at an significant time of growth and development. Working closely with the Director of Research, you will help implement the Mercy Health Research Strategy and strengthen research governance, capability, partnerships and impact across the health service.

In this role, you will:

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Research Unit, including governance systems, study tracking, audits, accreditation evidence and reporting.




- Support researchers with ethics and governance processes, study conduct, funding opportunities and translating research into practice.
- Work with clinical services, internal teams, universities, other health services and external partners to strengthen research activity and build a research-rich culture.
- Coordinate research training and contribute to policies, procedures, communications and organisational research reporting.

What you'll bring:

To thrive in this role, you will have:

- A relevant tertiary qualification in health sciences, biomedical science, public health, epidemiology, nursing, medicine, allied health, psychology, science or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in research coordination, research governance, project management, clinical trials, grants, ethics or research operations.
- Sound knowledge of research ethics and governance, including HREC submissions, site governance, consent, privacy and data management.
- An understanding of Good Clinical Practice and clinical trial requirements.
- Strong organisational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate, high-quality records.




- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with researchers, clinicians, senior leaders and external partners.
- Experience with budgets, contracts, reporting and stakeholder management.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

- A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
- Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
