Due to our company growth, and strong pipeline of future projects, Fairbrother is looking to recruit for a number of positions to join our Devonport team in a full-time permanent role including Carpenters & Leading Hand Carpenters.

You’ll be joining a dynamic, supportive, and passionate team of professionals who take pride in what they do. This role is integral to our project delivery and provides the opportunity to work on iconic and high-profile projects with one of Australia’s most respected builders.
About the Role
As a successful candidate in the position of Carpenter or Leading Hand Carpenter with Fairbrother, you will support Site Managers appointed to the relevant project who lead a strong and capable team of qualified trade staff, apprentices and general labourers. While on the tools, you will assist all trade staff and apprentices with technical support, advice and mentoring, as well as meeting deadlines. Your time management and organisational skills are second to none as well as your ability to work under pressure.

What We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone with:
- Commercial / Residential construction industry experience. Leading hands required to have 5 years minimum experience within the role.
- The ability to work unsupervised and as part of a small team.
- Proactive, organised, prepared and focused .
- Collaborative nature that is approachable and proactive.
- Superior time management and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written, verbally, and active listening.
- Rapport building with a variety of stakeholders.
- Lead by example.
- An unwavering focus on safety and quality standards.
To be successful, the candidate will display:
- Full working rights in Australia.
- Certificate III in Carpentry (mandatory).
- A current driver’s licence.
- Construction Industry White Card.
- Working Safely at Heights.
- Own tools.
- Own vehicle.
