Job Overview:
XCMG Australia is seeking an outstanding Mine Autonomous Test Engineer to join our Australian mining autonomy team. Focusing on open‑pit mine operation scenarios in Australia, you will be responsible for end‑to‑end testing of mine autonomous systems including autonomous haulage trucks, intelligent dispatching platforms and auxiliary equipment.
You will conduct on‑site test execution, iterate the test system, perform fault diagnosis and closed‑loop verification in strict compliance with Australian mine safety codes, mine‑site operational standards and industry regulatory requirements. Working closely with local Australian mine teams and domestic R&D; teams, you will ensure the safety, stability, operational efficiency and scenario adaptability of autonomous equipment and systems under complex Australian mine conditions. You will continuously optimize autonomous operation algorithms and functional modules, supporting the commercial roll‑out,
stable operation and version iteration of our mine autonomy solutions across the Australian market.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Test‑plan Planning & Implementation: Customize test plans for the complete autonomous‑system unit, hardware‑software integration, functions and performance. Develop standardized test cases, test plans and on‑site test execution specifications, and independently complete mine‑site real‑vehicle tests, simulation tests and joint commissioning tests.
- On‑site Test Execution & Data Management: Set up, commission and maintain the mine‑site test environment. Conduct end‑to‑end autonomous operation tests covering the “load‑haul‑dump” workflow of unmanned mining equipment. Accurately collect, organize and analyse test data, truthfully record equipment status, system anomalies and scenario‑adaptation issues. Regularly deliver standardized test reports, data review reports and optimization analysis reports.
- Troubleshooting & Closed‑loop Follow‑up : Track various issues arising during testing including hardware‑software faults, algorithm adaptation anomalies, dispatching system stuttering and scenario‑adaptation failures. Precisely identify root causes, submit standardized defect tickets, coordinate with R&D;, algorithm and engineering teams to monitor improvement progress, and perform regression testing and closed‑loop verification to continuously improve system stability.
- Cross‑team Collaboration & Project Delivery:
Liaise with Australian mine owners, local operation‑maintenance teams and third‑party acceptance bodies to align test progress, report system issues and support project acceptance. Communicate with domestic R&D; teams to feed back local‑scenario adaptation requirements, on‑site test pain points and optimization suggestions, supporting product version iteration and localized feature improvement.
- Document Archiving & Technical Enablement: Standardize, update and archive full‑lifecycle test documents for overseas projects, including test plans, test cases, reports, fault‑handling guidelines and on‑site operation‑maintenance manuals. Provide technical enablement and hands‑on guidance to local teams on autonomous‑system testing and maintenance.
- Compliance & Risk Control: Strictly abide by Australian regulatory requirements for mine safety production, site operations and equipment maintenance. Identify safety risks during testing, standardize on‑site test operations, and ensure all test activities remain compliant, safe and controllable.
Qualifications:
- Majoring in Vehicle Engineering, Automation, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science or related disciplines.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in vehicle‑level testing, autonomous driving testing or engineering‑vehicle testing.
- Familiar with the basic architecture of autonomous systems (Perception / Localization / Planning / Control).
- Solid competencies in on‑site problem analysis and system‑level thinking.
- Proficiency in Linux environment with Python scripting capability is a plus.
Additional Information:
• Domestic and international travel, including travel to factories in China, is required for this position.
