Interior Designer / Architectural Designer

Melbourne-based | Immediate Start

SUMMARY

We are seeking a locally experienced Architect or Interior Designer with background experience similar to our values to join our Melbourne studio.

This role suits someone who understands that valuable design must be delivered correctly, efficiently, and on time.

We are offering the right candidate a genuine opportunity: a direct pathway into leadership and future growth.

You'll work closely alongside an experienced Director, with over 25 years of experience in the industry, to get exposure of the business, industry networks and build toward a long-term future career as a project and team leader.

The role provides good hands-on experience from concept to construction, including site and contract administration exposure, and suitable with the following experience:

- Meeting project deadlines with high communication approach
- Completing tasks thoroughly and accurately
- Understanding the cost and programme impact of your work
- Learning continuously across all project stages

Local Melbourne (or Australian) experience is essential.

Unfortunately applications without local experience may not be progressed.

ABOUT US

As multi-disciplinary design studio, we specialise in tailored solutions across commercial, hospitality, and residential projects.

We're known for a hands-on approach, considered design and reliable delivery from concept through to completion.

We work across commercial and residential projects, including smaller-scale workplace and feasibility / development projects with shorter timeframes.

You will be involved in:

- End-to-End Delivery involved in every phase: feasibility, concept design, documentation, tendering, and construction.
- Maximum Exposure on project workflow, from client pitches to construction. We wanted to create leaders & for the right candidate,

we provide mentoring and as you grow, you'll take on greater ownership of your own projects.
- Holistic Design — Integrate interior design, architecture, furniture/styling, lighting, and artwork for cohesive, branded outcomes. We design to workstyle and lifestyle functional brief.
- Coordination & Collaboration — Work directly with clients, consultants, and the internal team, keeping timelines and quality on track.

This is an end-to-end role, not a siloed position, it requires individual to be collaborative & confident communicator.

SOFTWARE & WORKFLOW

Our studio currently uses:

- Revit – primary documentation platform
- Enscape – design communication and reviews (the studio also uses other visualisation tools)
- Rhino – concept and design development
- Industry standard graphic software

You should be comfortable working across multiple tools and adapting as workflows evolve.

Other software experience would be useful Twin Motion, Blender and D5.

What We’re Looking For

- Professionals with background experience similar to ours. We want to inject growth & opportunities in the studio, empowering the team to set directions (under director’s guidance).
- A collaborative self-starter mindset - proactive, adaptable, and genuinely curious about exploring new opportunities within the business and personal growth. Follow up, follow through mentality with dare to dream high and create own pathway for growth & opportunities.

- Melbourne-based and ready on-site with Australian / local experience & knowledge - you'll be actively coordinating with our team, consultants and clients. Professional communication skill with clients, consultants and builders is essential.
- Adaptable, coachable individual - 2 to 5 years' experience on documentation is preferred as architect/interior designer with good project documentation experience, from 1:200 scale drawings through to 1:5 joinery and junction details. Designer must know how to document, as it is important in fulfilling the required daily tasks.
- Highly organised — you'll help bring structure to a fast-paced, director-led studio, managing competing priorities and keeping multiple projects on track. Ability to manage tasks, priorities & deadlines will assist in role placement within studio

This Role Will Suit You If You:

- Take ownership of your work and finish tasks properly
- Respect deadlines and project budgets
- Want exposure to site and construction stages
- Prefer responsibility and learning over narrow roles

This is not a purely conceptual design role.

What We Offer

- Full project lifecycle exposure
- Genuine site and contract administration experience (for the right team member)
- Direct access to decision-making, you'll have regular one-on-ones with the Director to guide your development and growth within the studio
- Opportunity to grow with a studio looking to expand
- Salary to commensurate with experience
