About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a Liberty fuel station in Margate, QLD.

This full-time position is responsible for managing overall retail operations, supervising staff, maintaining effective stock and inventory controls, monitoring sales performance, and ensuring a high standard of customer service.

The successful candidate will be confident in leading a team, managing operational and financial performance, and maintaining efficient store operations within a fast-paced fuel retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, organise and manage the day-to-day operations of the retail store and fuel station.
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to improve revenue and profitability.
- Determine appropriate product mix, stock levels and inventory requirements based on customer demand and sales trends.
- Manage purchasing, pricing, stock ordering and inventory control to maintain adequate product availability.
- Review sales reports, margins, operational costs and financial performance to support effective business decisions.
- Recruit, train, supervise, roster and support retail staff to maintain productivity and service standards.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and professionally manage customer enquiries and complaints.
- Oversee merchandising, promotional activities, product displays and overall store presentation.
- Monitor stock movements and implement procedures to minimise shortages, wastage and inventory discrepancies.




- Manage store expenses and operational budgets in accordance with business objectives.
- Ensure the retail premises, equipment and facilities are maintained in a clean, safe and professional condition.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, workplace health and safety requirements and relevant retail and consumer legislation.
- Liaise with suppliers and service providers regarding stock deliveries and operational requirements.
- Monitor staff performance and provide ongoing training, guidance and support.
- Contribute to improving the overall efficiency, sales performance and profitability of the business.
- Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a retail supervisory, store management or similar management role.
- Relevant qualification in Retail Management, Business, Management or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
- Experience in a fuel station or high-volume retail environment will be highly regarded.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sales targets, budgets and retail financial performance.
- Sound understanding of purchasing, stock control and inventory management systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities effectively in a fast-paced retail setting.
