Senior Site Engineer – Civil Construction

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Site Engineer to join a well-established civil construction company working on projects throughout Townsville and North Queensland.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Civil Engineer with robust site experience who is looking to take on a senior role within a growing civil construction business.

The Role

Working closely with the Project Manager and Site Supervisors, you will be responsible for providing technical and engineering support across civil construction projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing engineering support across day-to-day civil construction activities
- Managing and coordinating site works to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to specification
- Reviewing engineering drawings, specifications and construction methodologies
- Setting out and checking works
- Managing subcontractors and coordinating site activities
- Monitoring project progress, quality and productivity
- Assisting with project programming and planning
- Managing quantities, variations and progress claims
- Preparing and maintaining project documentation




- Conducting quality assurance and quality control activities
- Identifying and resolving technical issues on site
- Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
- Ensuring works comply with relevant Australian Standards, specifications and project requirements
- Supporting the Project Manager with the successful delivery of projects

About You

We are looking for someone with:

- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- 5+ years' experience in civil construction
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer / Project Engineer
- Strong understanding of civil construction methodologies
- Experience across areas such as earthworks, roads, drainage, pavements and bulk excavation
- Strong knowledge of construction drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of your work
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Australian working rights
- White Card
- Current Australian driver's licence

Pay: $70.00 – $75.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38.0 – 48.0 per week
