Experienced on a forklift but happy to get off it and get your hands dirty too?

Phoenix Source & Select is recruiting an experienced Yard Hand / Forklift Operator for a long established Australian company specialising in the manufacture, repair and refurbishment of heavy railway machinery.

This is not your typical warehouse forklift role. We need someone comfortable handling large, heavy and awkward raw materials within a busy manufacturing environment.

- 6:00am to 2:30pm
- Accrued monthly RDO

The role

You’ll be operating 3 to 5 tonne forklifts to move large and awkward raw materials around the yard, load and unload materials onto machinery and ensure production areas have what they need.

You’ll also be hands on with:

- Picking and packing
- Loading and unloading materials
- Preparing raw materials for production
- Cutting materials using a band saw
- Regular manual handling up to 25kg
- General yard and production duties

What we're looking for

You must hold a current LF Forklift Licence and have solid experience operating forklifts in a similar industrial environment.

Experience within steel, metal fabrication, structural steel,



heavy engineering, rail, automotive, machinery manufacturing or other heavy production environments would be highly regarded.

Most importantly, you need to be a confident forklift operator who is comfortable handling large and awkward loads and equally happy to jump off the forklift and assist with physical work.

The workshop can be cold in winter and hot in summer, so you'll need to be physically fit and comfortable working in a traditional workshop environment.
