Section Waiter – The Herring Room, Manly

The Herring Room is looking for an experienced, passionate Section Waiter to join our tight-knit, family-run team in Manly. Located just moments from the beach on Pittwater Road, we serve premium, sustainably sourced seafood alongside a curated wine list in a beautiful 1920s heritage building. If you thrive in a fast-paced, premium-casual dining room & pride yourself on warm, intuitive service, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

- Section Control: Command a dedicated multi-table section with poise, keeping service smooth & unhurried for guests.
- Product Knowledge: Master our evolving seafood menus & daily specials to confidently make recommendations.
- Wine & Beverage Service: Execute polished wine service, handle BYO procedures seamlessly, & speak confidently about pairing options.
- Guest Engagement: Anticipate guest needs, build rapport with our loyal local regulars, & resolve any issues with grace.
- Operational Flow: Complete shift setups, station stocking, & wrap-up duties efficiently to support the whole floor team.

What We Are Looking For

- Proven Experience: At least 2 years of experience running a section in a premium casual or fine-dining restaurant.




- NSW RSA: A current and valid New South Wales Responsible Service of Alcohol competency card.
- Coastal Polish: A professional appearance combined with a warm, relaxed, & genuinely hospitable beachside attitude.
- Availability: 4 day roster. Solid availability for evening shifts from Tuesday to Saturday, plus weekend lunches. Friday & Saturdays are non negotiable.
