About The Bridge Church

The Bridge Church is a vibrant and growing Sydney evangelical Anglican church, with congregations meeting in Neutral Bay, Kirribilli, Macquarie Park and Rozelle. Our mission is to make mature disciples of Christ who will innovatively take the Gospel to our neighbourhood, our networks and the nations. Our vision is to aspire to be a network of diverse communities of disciples living for Jesus and loving like Jesus.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a proactive, experienced and practical Asset & Facilities Manager to oversee the stewardship of our diverse property portfolio. This is a varied role combining long-term asset management, facilities management, property projects, and hands-on maintenance to ensure our spaces remain safe, functional, well-maintained and fit for purpose.

Reporting to the Operations Director and working closely with the Wardens, you will be responsible for a portfolio that includes three heritage church buildings, four residential rectory properties, commercial premises and four leased properties. This is a part-time role (approximately 25 hours per week) with remuneration commensurate with skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Asset Management: Oversee the church’s asset register and asset management plan, regularly assess building conditions and identify emerging maintenance requirements, and plan and prioritise maintenance and capital expenditure over the short, medium and long term to the areas of greatest need, risk and value.
- Facilities & Project Management:

Manage planned and reactive maintenance across the property portfolio, conduct regular inspections of all properties and identify defects, deterioration and safety issues. Determine the most appropriate and cost-effective solution for property issues, and coordinate regular maintenance schedules.
- Contractor & Tenant Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with reliable and cost-effective trades and service providers. Engage and supervise contractors ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently. Coordinate maintenance and repairs for leased properties and liaise with tenants regarding property-related issues.
- Hands-on Maintenance: Perform general property repairs, minor building works, and basic landscaping when it is safe, practical and cost-effective.
- Heritage & Compliance: Help preserve and maintain the Church’s heritage properties using appropriate repair and maintenance methods, and ensure appropriate attention is given to safety, fire, and other property-related compliance obligations.

About You:

You are a practical property professional who enjoys both planning and doing. You can develop a long-term maintenance strategy, manage a building project, diagnose a problem, have an informed conversation with a builder or tradesperson,

and pick up a toolbox when the most sensible solution is to fix something yourself.

You will demonstrate servant-hearted leadership and a commitment to the Christian faith and the values and mission of The Bridge Church.

Required Skills and Attributes:

- Proven experience in property, facilities, building management or a related field.
- Strong project management, organizational, and administrative skills.
- Proven ability to diagnose building issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- A practical, hands-on approach and robust problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing contractors, trades and service providers.
- The ability to manage multiple properties, projects and competing priorities, within budget.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage diverse stakeholders (staff, leadership, volunteers, and trades).
- Strong sense of stewardship and attention to detail regarding safety, quality, and compliance.
- Experience in WHS management and compliance.
- Experience working with heritage buildings or within church, school or NFP environments (highly regarded).
