Newly Licensed A-Grade Electrician – EV Charger Installations

We are a growing EV-charger installation business seeking a reliable, newly licensed A-Grade electrician for residential EV-charger installations across Melbourne.

Newly licensed electricians are strongly encouraged to apply. You must be confident in completing residential EV-charger installations safely, correctly and in accordance with Victorian electrical requirements.

Service areas

- Melbourne south-eastern suburbs
- Melbourne CBD and inner-city suburbs
- Melbourne northern suburbs

Payment

- $300 per completed standard installation
- One completed installation: $300
- Two completed installations: $600
- Payment is per completed installation and is not a guaranteed daily wage
- Rates are inclusive of GST where applicable
- Non-standard work and approved variations will be paid separately

What the company provides

- All agreed installation materials and consumables
- Pickup from an agreed location
- Transportation to customer appointments
- Transportation between appointments
- Return to the agreed drop-off location
- Customer bookings and scheduling
- Site photographs and installation information where available
- Charger supplied by the customer or available onsite
- Fuel, toll and parking costs

What the electrician provides

- EV-charger installation labour
- Electrical tools and calibrated testing equipment
- Electrical testing and charger commissioning
- Certificate of Electrical Safety
- Installation photographs and documentation
- Safe, compliant and qualified workmanship
- Professional communication with customers

Standard installation scope





The $300 payment applies when the installation meets all the following conditions:

- Single-storey residential property
- Existing single-phase electrical supply
- Maximum 7.4kW/32A EV charger
- Cable route of up to five metres
- Straightforward surface-mounted installation
- Suitable switchboard with adequate capacity and available space
- No switchboard upgrade or consumer-mains work
- No trenching, wall chasing, asbestos or difficult access
- Charger available onsite

Anything outside the standard scope must be photographed, quoted and approved as a paid variation before additional work begins.

Requirements

- Current Victorian A-Grade electrician’s licence
- Current REC registration or a documented lawful connection to the responsible REC
- Ability to issue and lodge a Certificate of Electrical Safety
- Active ABN
- Appropriate insurance for the agreed working arrangement
- Knowledge of dedicated circuits, switchboards and electrical testing
- Electrical tools and calibrated testing equipment
- Reliable attendance and professional presentation
- Availability to undertake flexible installation opportunities across one or more of our service areas

EV-charger experience is preferred but not essential. Newly licensed electricians who want to develop specialist EV-charging experience are welcome to apply.
