Athenry Plant Services Pty Ltd (APS) is a plant maintenance company based in Perth, specialising in the servicing, maintenance and repair of heavy plant, machinery and earthmoving equipment.
We are seeking an experienced Fitter to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing mechanical plant and equipment across our workshop and various client sites.
Due to the nature of our operations, the position may involve travel to regional Western Australia, sometimes at short notice. Overtime and occasional weekend work may also be required depending on operational requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have:
- An AQF Certificate III in a relevant mechanical fitting trade, including at least two years of on-the-job training; or
- An AQF Certificate IV in a relevant field; or
- At least three years of relevant work experience where applicable.
- Previous experience maintaining and repairing plant, machinery and mechanical equipment.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A willingness to travel to regional locations when required.
- A commitment to protected work practices and high-quality workmanship
Key Responsibilities
· Diagnose mechanical faults in heavy earthmoving and mobile plant equipment.
· Dismantle, inspect, repair and reassemble mechanical components and assemblies used in heavy plant and equipment.
· Inspect and repair hydraulic systems, pumps, cylinders, valves and associated components.
· Diagnose and repair mechanical drive systems, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, couplings and related components.
· Inspect components for wear, damage and serviceability using precision measuring equipment.
· Fit, assemble and adjust mechanical components to manufacturers' specifications and required tolerances.
· Remove and replace worn or defective mechanical components and assemblies.
· Carry out preventative maintenance and scheduled mechanical servicing of heavy plant and equipment.
· Test and adjust repaired mechanical components and systems to ensure correct operation and performance.
· Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, service manuals and equipment documentation.
· Use hand tools, power tools, workshop machinery and precision measuring equipment to complete fitting and repair work.
· Conduct operational testing and fault diagnosis on mechanical and hydraulic systems following repairs.
· Undertake field repairs and maintenance of heavy mobile plant at metropolitan and regional worksites.
· Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance undertaken.
