- Salary range $91,923–$97,346 per annum, plus superannuation and penalty rates typically ranging from 20 - 30%
- Full-time, permanent

The Opportunity

As the Assistant Supervisor Waste and Cleaning – Night Shift, you will work closely with the shift Supervisor as the second-in-charge, providing operational support and coordinating the team to ensure the City’s waste collection and street cleaning services are delivered safely and effectively.

Reporting to the Supervisor Waste and Cleaning within our Operations team, your responsibilities will primarily include:

- Supporting daily operations and coordinating and supervising the team when required;
- Motivating team members and contributing to a positive, supportive and high-performing workplace culture;
- Planning and scheduling waste collection and street cleaning programs;
- Coordinating plant and equipment and compiling waste data and graffiti reports;
- Maintaining safe work practices, developing Safe Work Procedures and supporting incident investigations;
- Training employees in the safe and effective operation of specialised vehicles, plant and equipment; and
- Operating waste collection trucks, road and footpath sweepers and high-pressure cleaning equipment.

About You

To succeed in this role,



you will possess:

- Experience leading and managing a small operational team;
- Strong verbal and written communication, numeracy and time-management skills;
- The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and confidence completing operational reporting and administrative tasks;
- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety, public safety and the safe use of chemicals;
- The flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and daytime or afternoon shifts when required; and
- A current HR class Australian driver’s licence.

Experience operating, or the ability to learn to operate, road and footpath sweepers will be highly regarded.

Eligibility

To be eligible to work for us, you will need to demonstrate:

- A right to work in Australia, such as a birth certificate, current passport or current visa;




- Fitness for work through a pre-employment medical;
- A current HR class Australian driver’s licence; and
- A satisfactory National Police Clearance dated within the past three months.
