Rubika Cafe | Hawthorn, VICPart-time: 20–25 hours per week

Rubika Cafe in Hawthorn is looking for an experienced Senior Barista / Café Supervisor who can confidently run day-to-day café operations and lead the team when the owner is not present.

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, reliable and takes genuine ownership of their role. This is not just a barista position — you will be trusted to help manage the café and keep service running smoothly.

Your responsibilities

- Making consistently high-quality coffee
- Running shifts independently
- Leading and supporting the café team
- Opening and closing the venue
- Maintaining excellent customer service
- Managing stock and assisting with ordering
- Monitoring wastage and maintaining cost control
- Helping organise staff and day-to-day operations
- Maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards
- Handling customer and staff issues professionally
- Identifying simple ways to improve sales and service

What we’re looking for

- Strong barista experience
- Previous café supervisor, team leader or management experience
- Confident working independently




- Reliable and organised
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Good understanding of café operations
- Able to remain calm during busy service
- Someone who sees what needs to be done and takes action without needing constant direction

Hours

Approximately 20–25 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours and greater responsibility for the right person.

Weekend availability is required.
