Specification

Role Title

Automation Engineer

Mandatory Certification

UiPath Advanced Developer / UiARD Certification

About the Role

The Automation Engineer will lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise automation solutions. This role requires an engineer capable of independently managing automation projects across their full lifecycle—from initial requirements gathering through to production deployment and operational support.

The position calls for delivering scalable, resilient, maintainable, secure, and technology-agnostic solutions using modern automation tools, cloud services, and custom code integrations.

Key Responsibilities

- Solution Design & Implementation: Lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise automation solutions. Identify automation opportunities across processes and recommend optimal technology and architecture.

- End-to-End Delivery: Independently manage automation initiatives from requirements analysis through production release and post-deployment support.

- Documentation: Author process flows, Process Design Documents (PDDs), Solution Design Documents (SDDs), technical specifications, and general solution documentation.

- Reusable Frameworks: Construct modular, reusable automation components, frameworks, libraries, and custom activities to ensure consistency and speed across developments.

- Integrations & Cloud Architecture: Build integrations using REST APIs, web services, databases, message queues, and enterprise applications. Utilize cloud capabilities across Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Azure DevOps, Key Vault, and related Microsoft cloud services.

- Custom Software Engineering: Develop supporting services and custom components using C#/.NET, Python, JavaScript, and related technologies.

- Advanced UiPath Ecosystem: Leverage specialized UiPath features including UiPath Apps, Action Centre, Document Understanding, OCR, AI/ML, and Integration Service.

- DevOps & Release Management: Implement CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated deployments, and release-management best practices.

- Quality Assurance & Code Review: Conduct peer code reviews, maintain strict compliance with coding and security standards, and lead end-to-end testing across UI, API, integration, regression, and automated test scenarios.

- Operational Maintenance & Monitoring: Implement robust logging, exception handling, monitoring, alerting, and operational reporting. Manage production defects, hot fixes, change requests, enhancements, and performance optimizations.

- Governance & SDLC Compliance: Ensure complete alignment with SDLC protocols, IT Change Management guidelines, security policies, and release management standards.

Technical Qualifications and Experience

- Automation Platforms: Hands-on expertise with UiPath and Power Platform.

- UiPath Suite: Direct working experience with UiPath Apps, Action Centre, Document Understanding, OCR, AI/ML tools, and Integration Service.

- Programming Languages: Proficiency in C#/.NET, Python, and JavaScript for building custom services and components.

- Microsoft Cloud Services: Hands-on experience with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Azure DevOps, and Key Vault.

- API & System Integrations: Experience developing and consuming REST APIs, web services, relational databases, and message queues.

- DevOps Practices: Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipeline setup, version control, automated build/deployment processes, and release governance.

- Testing Methodologies: Proven background leading end-to-end testing across UI, API, integration, and regression testing scenarios.

Mandatory Certifications

- UiPath Certification: Must hold an active UiPath Advanced Developer / UiARD certification.

Desired Competencies

- Independent Ownership: Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently from requirement definition to post-production support.

- Architectural Vision: Capacity to design solutions that remain scalable, resilient, secure, and maintainable.

- Team-oriented Communication: Strong cross-functional collaboration skills to work seamlessly alongside business stakeholders, architects, developers, and support teams.

- Governance Focus: Discipline to enforce code quality, peer reviews, security guidelines, and strict change management compliance.
