Loving Start Childcare & Education is a brand‑new, purpose‑built early learning centre in Healesville. We are a privately owned service dedicated to providing warm, nurturing and high‑quality education and care for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. Our team is passionate, collaborative and committed to creating a centre where children feel safe, supported and excited to learn.
We are now seeking an experienced, organised and supportive Assistant Director to join our leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the culture, operations and success of a new centre.
Role: Assistant Director
Employment Type: Permanent Part Time, 37.5hrs a week
Hours: Monday to Friday, rotating roster between 6:30am – 6:30pm
Location: Healesville, VIC
As the Assistant Director at Loving Start, you will work closely with the Centre Director to lead daily operations, support educators and ensure the delivery of high‑quality early learning programs. You will be a key driver of centre culture, team capability and compliance.
This is a hands‑on leadership role where you will actively support educators across rooms, build strong relationships with families and contribute to continuous improvement across all areas of the centre.
In this role, you will:
- Support the Centre Director in the day‑to‑day leadership and management of the centre
- Mentor, guide and inspire educators to deliver high‑quality programs and interactions
- Step into the Centre Director role when required
- Support curriculum implementation aligned with the EYLF, VEYLDF and NQS
- Foster strong, respectful relationships with children, families and the local community
- Ensure compliance with National
- Regulations, Child Safe Standards and centre policies
- Assist with rostering, enrolments, tours and administrative tasks
- Contribute to the centre’s Quality Improvement Plan and continuous improvement goals
- Support onboarding, training and professional development for new and existing staff
- Work collaboratively across all rooms to maintain consistency, quality and team cohesion

About You
You are an experienced early childhood skilled who:
- Holds a Diploma or Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (ACECQA‑approved)
- Has previous experience as an Assistant Director or senior Room Leader
- Demonstrates strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Has solid knowledge of the EYLF, VEYLDF, NQS and Child Safe Standards
- Builds positive, trusting relationships with families, educators and children
- Thrives in a collaborative, supportive team environment
- Is confident in mentoring educators and supporting centre operations
- Is proactive, reliable and passionate about delivering high‑quality early learning
