Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Plant Mechanic – Workshop & Field Service

$90,000–$150,000 package, depending on experience and qualifications

RECS Group is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Plant Mechanic to join our team and maintain our diverse, modern fleet of civil construction, agricultural and heavy transport equipment.

This is a permanent, full-time position offering diverse work across both our workshop and project sites. You’ll have the autonomy to diagnose and complete repairs independently, while being supported by an experienced and safety-focused team.

Our fleet includes equipment from Caterpillar, Volvo, Kenworth, Mack, Case and New Holland, along with heavy vehicles, trailers and specialised civil construction machinery.

The role will include:

- Scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
- Diagnostics, fault-finding and mechanical repairs
- Workshop and field-based breakdown support
- Maintenance of civil and agricultural plant
- Repairs and servicing of heavy vehicles and trailers
- General fitting, fabrication and equipment repairs
- Completing service records and fleet documentation
- Helping improve fleet reliability and availability

About you:

- Trade-qualified Plant Mechanic, Heavy Diesel Mechanic or equivalent




- At least three years’ post-trade experience
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- Experience maintaining late-model heavy machinery
- Current unrestricted NSW driver licence
- HC licence preferred, but not essential
- Able to work safely and independently in the field
- Reliable, practical and genuinely proud of your workmanship
- Willing to work collaboratively as part of the wider RECS Group team
