ABOUT THE HCCC

The Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC) is an independent statutory body (set up under the Health Care Complaints Act 199 that plays a central part in maintaining the integrity of the NSW health system, with the overarching consideration of protecting the health and safety of individuals and the community.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Assessment Division is responsible for the collection and analysis of information received by the Commission to assess risk and determine what further action is required to protect the health and safety of the public. The Senior Assessment Officer quality assures the work undertaken by the officers within their team while also managing a small caseload of higher risk or sensitive complaints.

About you:

- A strong communicator and leader capable of mentoring and supporting the development of your team members.




- A natural problem solver that is driven and motivated to manage a caseload of sensitive, complex, and other matters and coordinate assessment of related complaints with other team members.

- Confident and practices sound judgment to ensure complaint management complies with the Commission’s obligations under the Health Care Complaints Act and align with Regulatory Practice Principles.

- A motivated and cooperative attitude, who can contribute to a positive work-based culture.

The selection process will include a comparative assessment to assist in determining your suitability for the role. This may include a behavioural based interview and online testing.

A talent pool may be created from this recruitment action for ongoing and temporary roles of the same work classification that may become available for filling over the next 18 months.

Essential requirements:

To be eligible to apply for this position, applicants must have existing Australian work rights.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a Background Verification Check which includes National Police (Criminal History), qualification and Working with Children’s checks.
