Company Description Birch Care Pty Ltd was founded to give individuals greater freedom and control over their care, drawing on the founder’s lived experience of recovery after a motor vehicle accident. As an NDIS Registered Provider, Birch Care supports people aged 5 to 65 across the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, and Beaudesert. Services include social support, personal care, supported independent living, accommodation, meal preparation, community access, respite care, and other tailored supports. The team specializes in assisting people with a wide range of disabilities, including acquired and traumatic brain injuries, intellectual and psychosocial disabilities, and autism spectrum disorder. Birch Care focuses on promoting choice, independence, and meaningful outcomes for every person.

Role Description This is a contract, on-site Occupational Therapist role based in Adelaide, SA. The Occupational Therapist will assess clients’ functional abilities, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement evidence-based interventions to support independence in daily living, community participation, and recovery. Day-to-day tasks include conducting comprehensive assessments, delivering therapy sessions, documenting progress, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and educating clients, families,



and support workers on strategies and equipment. The role also involves liaising with NDIS participants and other stakeholders to ensure services align with goals, funding plans, and best practice standards. The therapist will contribute to service improvement and uphold Birch Care’s commitment to respectful, person-centered support.

Qualifications

- Clinical practice skills in Occupational Therapy, including assessment, intervention planning, and functional rehabilitation.
- Foundational knowledge in Medicine and Rehabilitation relevant to disability, injury, and recovery pathways.
- Strong Communication skills for working with clients, families, multidisciplinary teams, and external stakeholders.
- Experience or interest in Pediatrics, including supporting children and young people with diverse developmental and functional needs.
- Recognized qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration (or eligibility) with the appropriate professional board or association.
- Experience working with NDIS participants or within disability or community health settings is highly regarded.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage caseloads effectively, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
- Commitment to inclusive, person-centered practice and ongoing career development.
