Compensation & Perks

- Full-Time Salary: $227,563.05 - $331,000.80 per annum (commensurate with qualifications and experience)

- Part-Time Rate: $116.69 - $169.74 per hour (pro-rata)

- Superannuation: 12%

- Salary Sacrificing: Up to $15,899 for tax-free benefits + $2,650 p/a for entertainment benefits

- Leave: 5 weeks annual leave and 15 days personal leave (pro-rata)

About the Role

As a Medical Officer, you will provide high-quality primary health care services to clients of Wuchopperen.

- Reporting Line: Reports to a Coordinator, Health Services.

- Supervision: No direct responsibility for staff supervision.

- Collaboration: Requires significant liaison and coordination with clinic and clinical teams, alongside regular contact with internal/external health professionals and stakeholders to ensure effective client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Clinical Care: Provide general medical practice, emergency care, and community health services to advance client health.

- Program Contribution: Assist in planning, delivering, and evaluating primary health programs and developing clinical policies/best practice guidelines.

- Planned Care: Actively implement the suite of EPC items, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health checks.

- Care Coordination: Participate in case planning conferences and maintain close working relationships with external providers for continuity of care.

- Administration: Ensure concise, comprehensive, accurate, and timely client records and reporting.

- Quality & Research: Participate in medical research, quality assurance programs,



and continuous improvement processes.

- Community Alignment: Work within Wuchopperen’s Policies, Procedures, Staff Code of Conduct, and WHS requirements while participating in community activities.

Core Capabilities & Selection Criteria

- Qualifications: A Degree in Medicine from a recognised university and current AHPRA registration. Eligibility for a Medicare Provider Number.

- Cultural Capability: Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and cultures from historical and contemporary perspectives, with the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively.

- Community Control: Commitment to the principles of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community control and a willingness to develop the leadership of Indigenous staff.

- Communication & Advocacy: Extensively developed interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders and effectively advocate for clients.

- Teamwork & Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to work independently and within multi-disciplinary teams, prioritise deadlines, and manage sensitive/confidential matters.
