Company Description Paediatric Play is a mobile occupational and speech therapy service provider supporting NDIS participants (plan- and self-managed) across South Australia. The organization delivers services to children and young people aged 2–17 years in their natural environments, including homes, Montessori settings, early learning centers, preschools, and schools. A multidisciplinary team of occupational therapists, speech therapists, and developmental educators provides in-home services to reduce travel burden and support families in familiar, functional settings. Role Description The Psychologist – Paediatric will provide assessment and therapeutic support to children and young people aged 2–17 years, as well as guidance to their families and caregivers. This hybrid role is based in Adelaide, SA, with services delivered in homes, educational settings, and community environments, alongside some work-from-home flexibility for administration and telehealth. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting psychological assessments, developing and implementing evidence-based intervention plans, and collaborating closely with families, educators, and other allied health professionals. The role also involves writing clear reports and NDIS documentation, maintaining accurate clinical records, and participating in case discussions and multidisciplinary team meetings.



The psychologist will promote a strengths-based, play-focused approach that aligns with Paediatric Play’s child-focused and family-centered philosophy.

Qualifications

- Robust foundation in Psychology and Mental Health, with demonstrated experience working with children, adolescents, and families.
- Proficiency in Psychological Assessment, including selecting, administering, scoring, and interpreting standardized paediatric assessment tools.
- Skills in Counseling and therapeutic intervention, using evidence-based approaches suitable for children and young people.
- Understanding of Medicine-adjacent concepts relevant to paediatric development, neurodiversity, and multidisciplinary care, and ability to collaborate with other health professionals.
- Registration (or eligibility for registration) as a Psychologist with the appropriate regulatory body (e.g., AHPRA) and eligibility to work with NDIS participants.
- Experience or strong interest in NDIS processes, goal-setting, and report writing for funding and review purposes.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain clinical concepts in clear, family-friendly language.
- Ability to work autonomously in community settings and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with strong time management and organizational skills.
- Current Working With Children Check, National Police Check, driver’s license, and access to reliable transport for community visits.
- Commitment to child safety, strengths-based practice, cultural responsiveness
