Deliver evidence-based assessment and intervention for children and adults with communication and/or swallowing difficulties.
Develop individualised therapy plans and functional goals aligned with participant needs and NDIS outcomes.
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Psychologists.
Provide education/training to families, carers, support workers, and other stakeholders.
Utilise a range of therapy approaches including:
- AAC systems/strategies.
- Social communication intervention
- Functional communication strategies
Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.
Deliver services via face-to-face and telepractice models where appropriate.
Essential requirements:
- Bachelor or Master qualification in Speech Pathology.
- Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status with Speech Pathology Australia.
- Minimum 3–4 years experience working within disability and/or NDIS settings.
- Experience supporting both paediatric and adult participants.
- Robust understanding of the NDIS and capacity-building approaches.
- Experience with AAC and/or complex communication needs.
- Mealtime management assessment, recommendations and training.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel for community visits.
- Current Working With Children Check, Police check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
