About Rxion Health
Rxion Health is a recent Australian telehealth clinic delivering personalised, evidence-based care to adults across the country — entirely online. We focus on longevity, performance, metabolic health, hormone health and overall wellbeing, combining considered clinical assessment with convenient remote consultations and pharmacy-coordinated treatment delivered to the patient’s door.
We operate on a compliance-first model with clear clinical governance, structured policies and full administrative and platform support — so our practitioners can focus on what matters: safe, high-quality patient care.
About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced, AHPRA-registered prescriber — a Medical Practitioner (Doctor) — to join our growing telehealth clinic on an independent-contractor basis. Working remotely and flexibly, you’ll conduct telehealth consultations with adult patients, assess suitability for treatment, provide evidence-based advice and prescribe within your scope of practice.
All clinical decisions remain yours. We provide the systems, governance, onboarding and support around you so you can practise with confidence.
Clinical Focus Areas
Our patient care spans six wellbeing-focused areas. You’ll work across those that suit your scope and interests:
- Performance — Muscle development, recovery and repair
- Metabolic — Weight management and metabolic health
- Hormone — Sexual and reproductive health for men and women
- Cognitive — Focus, mood and sleep
- Gut & immune — Digestive health and immune support
- Longevity — Healthy ageing, skin and hair
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct telehealth consultations with adult patients in line with Australian professional standards, prescribing requirements, privacy obligations and clinic policies.
- Complete thorough patient assessments — medical history, current medications, risk factors and contraindications — to support safe care.
- Prescribe within your registration,
authorised scope of practice and applicable Commonwealth, state and territory medicines legislation.
- Give patients clear information about treatment options, risks, limitations, alternatives, follow-up requirements and when in-person care may be needed.
- Maintain accurate, complete and timely clinical records in our electronic medical record system.
- Obtain and document informed consent in line with clinic procedures and your professional obligations.
- Follow clinic processes for telehealth suitability, patient identity verification, escalation, referral and continuity of care.
- Coordinate with pharmacies, pathology providers, GPs and other health professionals where required.
- Participate in clinical governance — policy compliance, case review, incident reporting, audit support and quality improvement.
- Maintain current AHPRA registration, professional indemnity insurance and continuing professional development.
Essential Requirements
To be considered, you must have:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner , with no conditions, undertakings or restrictions.
- Authority to prescribe Schedule 4 and Schedule 8 medicines in your state or territory.
- Current professional indemnity insurance covering telehealth and compounded-medicine prescribing (proof required).
- Confidence working as an independent contractor — invoicing via an ABN, supplying your own equipment, and working remotely.
- The ability to practise via telehealth, with a private space and a reliable internet and technology setup.
- A sound understanding of Australian prescribing and clinical-documentation obligations.
- Completion of — or willingness to complete during onboarding — a recognised prescriber training course relevant to our clinical focus.
Highly Regarded
- Experience in private telehealth settings.
- Experience prescribing compounded or unregistered medicines, and in metabolic, men’s and women’s, hormone-related or personalised-health care.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records, e-prescribing and secure telehealth platforms (we use Medirecords and our own private system).
- Understanding of AHPRA advertising obligations and TGA restrictions relating to prescription-only and unapproved therapeutic goods (Training can be provided for this).
- Experience in a regulated healthcare environment with clear clinical policies, patient-safety and documentation requirements.
