About the role

Windsor Gardens Dental & Implant Centre is seeking a Trainee Dental Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin their career in the dental industry. Based in Windsor Gardens, SA 5087, you will be working in a supportive practice environment where you will gain hands-on experience and comprehensive training in dental assistance. This role is crucial to ensuring our patients receive exceptional care whilst learning the fundamentals of dental practice operations.

What you'll be doing

Assisting dental practitioners during patient treatments and procedures

Preparing treatment rooms, sterilising instruments, and maintaining equipment in accordance with dental health and safety standards

Greeting patients, managing patient records, and maintaining a welcoming reception area

Taking and processing dental radiographs under supervision

Providing chairside support including suctioning, retraction, and handing instruments to the dentist

Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records and appointment schedules

Assisting with infection control procedures and maintaining practice cleanliness standards

Supporting the dental team to ensure smooth practice operations and patient satisfaction

Learning dental terminology, procedures, and best practices under the guidance of experienced staff

Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction well

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

Reliability and a commitment to attendance and punctuality

Willingness to learn and develop new skills in a healthcare setting





Basic computer literacy and ability to manage administrative tasks

A current or willingness to obtain First Aid and CPR certification

Formal qualifications or training in dental assistance are not required, as comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided
