An established community-focused organisation is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their finance team for a 2 month contract, commencing immediately.

This is a excellent opportunity for someone who can step into a busy finance environment, pick things up quickly and provide hands-on support across a broad range of accounting duties.

The Role

Working closely with the wider finance team, your responsibilities will include:

- Assisting with month-end processes and reporting
- Preparing balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Processing and posting journals
- Assisting with accruals and prepayments
- Supporting Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable when required
- Assisting with financial reporting and analysis
- Investigating and resolving account discrepancies
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Providing general support to the finance team throughout the contract

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
- Strong reconciliation and general ledger experience
- Good Excel skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to work autonomously and manage competing deadlines




- A proactive and adaptable approach
- Availability to commence immediately or at short notice
