We’re looking for an experienced and energetic Events Team Leader to join our Events team at Southport Sharks.
This is a hands on leadership role where no two events are the same. From school graduations and conferences to gala dinners, MMA events, major poker tournaments and large scale functions, you’ll help lead the team through the setup, service and successful delivery of a diverse events calendar.
What you’ll be doing
- Doing, leading and supporting the Events team during setup, service and pack down
- Executing event requirements to ensure smooth and professional delivery
- Providing hands on Food & Beverage service alongside the team
- Setting clear expectations and keeping the team engaged during busy events
- Working closely with Kitchen and operational teams across the Club
- Maintaining high standards across presentation, service, safety and guest experience
- Troubleshooting on the floor and adapting quickly when plans change
What we’re looking for
- You’ll have previous experience working in events, supported by strong Food & Beverage knowledge and a genuine interest in stepping into a leadership role.
- You’ll be someone who is organised, confident communicating with a team and happy to roll up your sleeves and get involved.
- Previous supervisory experience is an advantage, but this could also be the perfect chance for an experienced Events or F&B; team member who is ready to step up and lead.
Why Southport Sharks?
You’ll work across a diverse range of events, build your leadership capability and gain exposure to events that go well beyond the traditional function space.
If you love the energy of events, enjoy leading from the floor and are ready for your next challenge, we’d love to hear from you.
Southport Sharks has become one of the largest and most successful clubs on the Gold Coast and in Queensland.
The club has an exciting and interesting local history dating back to when it was founded in 1961. Participating in the Gold Coast Australian Football League and playing its home games at Owen Park, it quickly built up a reputation of a fiercely competitive and successful club.
Since relocating to Fankhauser Reserve in 1988 and the introduction of gaming machines in 1992, Southport Sharks has experienced rapid growth in membership numbers.
