About the Role
We are currently seeking a Female Support Worker to provide support to a participant within a Supported Independent Living (SIL) environment.
This position includes a combination of active and passive sleepover shifts and involves providing person-centred support that enables participants to live independently, engage with their community, and achieve their individual goals.
Please note:
This position is designated for a female support worker due to the specific care, privacy, and support needs of the participant, in accordance with applicable legislation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist participants with personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming, and hygiene support
2. Support community access, social engagement, and recreational activities
3. Provide transportation to appointments, shopping, and community events
4. Deliver in-home support, including meal preparation, household tasks, and companionship
5. Assist with medication prompts and daily living activities
6. Support participants to build life skills, confidence, and independence
7. Promote participant choice, inclusion, and goal achievement
8. Maintain accurate documentation and reporting requirements
9. Work collaboratively with participants, families, and the broader support team
10. Provide support during active and passive sleepover shifts as required
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
1. Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent OR minimum two years of relevant work experience
2. At least one year of relevant work experience
3. Current first aid and CPR
4. Medication administration certificate (or be willing to obtain)
5. NDIS worker screening clearance and NDIS module completion
6. Working with Children's check
7. Police check
8. Valid drivers license
9. Full comprehensive car insurance
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
11. Previous experience supporting participants in a SIL environment
12. Availability to work active and passive sleepover shifts
