Engineering Trades Australia is currently seeking experienced Electricians with strong heavy industrial, telecommunications and testing experience for a brownfields construction project at the Alcoa Portland Aluminium Smelter an initial 6-week project, with the client holding a 3-year contract and potential for ongoing work.
Location: Portland, VIC
Project: Alcoa Portland Aluminum Smelter
Start Date: 10 August 2026
Roster: 9-day fortnight | 8-hour days
Duration: 6-week project with potential for ongoing work
About the Role
Working within a live industrial environment, you will be involved in:
- Pulling and installing CAT 6 cabling
- Installing media converters
- Rewiring conveyors
- Installing 6-foot screens
- Electrical testing and fault finding
- Telecoms installation and testing
Requirements
- Current Victorian Electrical Licence
- High Risk EWP (Desirable)
- Working at heights (Desirable)
- Confined Space & Gas Test (desirable)
- Telecommunications/data cabling experience
- Previous brownfields construction experience
- Must be clean shaven for face-fit respiratory protection
