Senior HSE Advisor

Core Talent is partnering with a leading organisation delivering critical power distribution infrastructure across Western Australia to recruit an experienced Senior HSE Advisor. This is a hands-on role supporting field-based construction and maintenance activities across the power distribution network, providing practical health, safety and environmental leadership while working closely with operational teams to ensure the safe delivery of works around live electrical assets.

Please note: Previous HSE experience supporting power distribution, electricity distribution networks or powerline construction and maintenance is essential. Applications without direct experience in this sector are unlikely to be considered.

The Role
Reporting to the HSE Manager, you will work closely with project managers, supervisors and field crews delivering works across power distribution networks, including overhead powerlines, underground cable infrastructure and associated electrical assets. You'll play a key role in managing risk, ensuring legislative compliance and promoting best practice across day-to-day operations while fostering a proactive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide practical HSE advice and leadership across power distribution and electrical infrastructure projects.
- Support operational teams undertaking works around live electrical assets, overhead powerlines, underground distribution cables and associated network infrastructure.
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits and assurance activities to verify compliance and the effectiveness of critical risk controls.
- Lead incident investigations and support the implementation of effective corrective actions.
- Assist in the development,



implementation and continual improvement of HSE management systems, procedures and risk controls.
- Monitor HSE performance, identify trends and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coach and mentor supervisors and employees to strengthen safety capability and leadership.
- Build solid working relationships with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Support operational projects, mobilisation activities, audits and business improvement programmes as required.

About You

To be successful you'll ideally have:

- Diploma in Work Health & Safety (or equivalent).
- Demonstrated HSE experience supporting power distribution, electricity distribution network construction and maintenance projects (essential).
- Experience working around overhead powerlines, underground power distribution assets and live electrical infrastructure.
- Sound knowledge of Western Australian WHS legislation.
- Experience with incident investigations, risk management, audits and contractor management.
- ICAM or equivalent investigation training (desirable).
- Highly Regarded
- Experience working within power distribution or electricity distribution network contracting environments.
- Lead Auditor qualification
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
- Experience working within contractor-based or client-facing utility environments
