EL1 Manager, Workplace Relations

Duration: 12 months with possibility of extension
Location: Canberra, ACT
Salary: $128,075 - $142,348 plus super
Clearance: Baseline

Our government client is seeking an experienced EL1 Manager, Workplace Relations to lead workplace relations, enterprise bargaining, and employee relations activities within a complex public sector environment. Solid experience providing strategic advice on industrial relations, employment conditions, organisational change, workforce governance, and complex people matters is essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead workplace relations and enterprise bargaining activities, including enterprise agreements, workplace policies, and employment frameworks.
- Provide strategic advice on employee relations, industrial matters, organisational change, and workforce risks.
- Manage performance, conduct, probation, and other complex workforce matters, ensuring fair and compliant outcomes.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with employee representatives and key stakeholders.
- Drive workplace relations governance and compliance with legislative and organisational requirements.
- Develop and review workplace policies, procedures, and guidance material.
- Lead workplace relations projects and initiatives that support organisational improvement and workforce strategy outcomes.





To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Demonstrated experience in workplace relations, industrial relations, or employee relations.
- Experience managing enterprise bargaining and workplace policy frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation, governance, and compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to provide strategic advice on complex workforce matters.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, consultation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management capabilities.
