About our client
Our client is an established, independently owned accounting and advisory firm based in Perth. The firm provides an integrated range of professional services and has developed longstanding relationships with a diverse portfolio of privately owned businesses and individual clients.

Due to continued growth and forward succession planning, the firm is seeking an experienced Business Services Manager who has genuine aspirations to progress beyond management.

This is not simply a Manager position. It is a pathway chance for someone who wants to develop into a Director, Partner and future equity holder within the practice.

About the position
As Business Services Manager, you will take responsibility for a portfolio of business services and taxation clients, overseeing both compliance and advisory requirements.

You will become the trusted day-to-day contact for your clients, building strong relationships, understanding their broader commercial goals and identifying opportunities to provide additional value.

Working closely with the firm’s Directors, you will also review the work of junior and intermediate accountants, support their professional development and contribute to the continued growth of the accounting and taxation division.

The successful candidate will be supported by a structured development and succession programme, ongoing mentoring and a clearly defined pathway towards directorship, partnership and equity ownership.

Duties will include:

- Managing a portfolio of business services and taxation clients
- Acting as the primary day-to-day contact for clients
- Overseeing accounting, taxation and compliance engagements
- Reviewing financial statements, income tax returns and related compliance work
- Providing taxation planning, structuring and general business advice




- Identifying opportunities to deliver additional value to clients
- Managing workflow, budgets, deadlines and client expectations
- Reviewing work completed by junior and intermediate accountants
- Mentoring and developing accounting staff
- Assisting with client proposals, quotations and new business opportunities
- Building strong relationships with existing and prospective clients
- Contributing to business development and the continued growth of the firm
- Working closely with the Directors as part of the firm’s succession plan

Skills and experience
To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have:

- CA or CPA qualification
- Current experience at Manager level within an Australian public practice accounting firm
- Solid technical knowledge across business services and taxation
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients across compliance and advisory services
- Demonstrated experience reviewing work and supporting junior team members
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-management skills
- Confident, polished and professional presentation and communication skills
- The ability to communicate complex accounting and taxation matters clearly
- Strong commercial awareness and sound professional judgement
- Natural leadership capability and an interest in developing others
- A genuine ambition to progress to Director, Partner and equity ownership

Previous involvement in business development, preparing quotations or converting new client opportunities will be highly regarded.





Exposure to SMSFs and experience working with clients across a broad range of industries would also be advantageous.

Please note: Applicants must currently reside in Australia and have relevant Australian public practice accounting experience.
