IEPro are working with a long-established engineering consultancy to recruit an experienced Principal Structural Engineer to lead its engineering team in Bunbury.

This opportunity sits within a highly respected consultancy with decades of experience delivering structural and civil engineering services throughout Western Australia. The business has built an outstanding reputation across commercial, industrial, government and residential sectors by providing practical engineering solutions and maintaining long-term client relationships.

The Opportunity

As Principal Structural Engineer, you will lead the engineering function while remaining actively involved in technical delivery across a diverse range of projects.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will oversee structural design, mentor junior engineers, coordinate documentation, and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to the long-term direction of the business.

This role offers significant autonomy, leadership responsibility and the opportunity to build equity in your future rather than simply progressing into another management position.

The Role

In this role, you will:

- Lead the structural engineering team and provide technical direction
- Deliver structural design and engineering solutions across a diverse project portfolio
- Prepare engineering reports, calculations and certification documentation
- Undertake structural inspections and site investigations
- Coordinate with drafting teams to produce high-quality documentation
- Review drawings and technical submissions before issue




- Manage client relationships and provide technical advice throughout project delivery
- Mentor graduate and junior engineers to support their career development
- Prepare quotations and manage smaller engineering projects
- Contribute to continuous improvement and technical excellence across the business

About You

To succeed, you will bring:

- Degree qualifications in Structural, Civil or Building Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia
- Minimum MIEAust membership, with CPEng or NER highly regarded
- 8-10+ years' experience in structural engineering design
- Strong knowledge of Australian structural design standards including AS1170, AS3600 and AS4100
- Experience delivering commercial, industrial, government and residential building projects
- Strong leadership capability with experience mentoring engineers
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with structural analysis software such as SPACE GASS or similar highly regarded
- A practical, collaborative and solutions-focused leadership style
