C&H; Recruitment is supporting our Townsville based client in recruiting for a Finance Payroll Officer to join them on a permanent basis
Reporting to the Financial Accountant, this role will challenge and develop your professional skills, whilst providing great exposure to a multifaceted heavy industry business
This role offers Monday to Friday work and office hours from 8am-4pm with some flexibility
As a key member of the Finance Team, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation, processing, and maintaining records for the payroll and accounts receivable functions as well as providing general finance and administration support
Key Responsibilities in the role:
- Responsible for maintaining confidential employee records and administering end-to-end payroll processes, including the collection, verification, and processing of timesheets and overtime
- Payroll data management, leave accrual tracking, and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations
- Reconciliation and payment of PAYG, superannuation, Maritime Super insurance levies, payroll tax, as well as preparation of year-end payment summaries and insurance renewals
- Oversee timely issuing of customer statements and billing ensuring correct cost coding
- Provide relief for finance and administration staff as required carrying out general office procedures including receipt of telephone and visitor enquiries as required
Requirements:
- Previous working knowledge and understanding of payroll and timrsheet procedures
- Previous experience with computerised accounting packages
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy on preparing and entering financial information
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with keen attention to detail
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel
- Driver license
