Could you be our next Pipe Fitter Welder?

Based in Eagle Farm, this is a permanent workshop position with a well-established industrial manufacturer operating from a new, purpose-built facility. This opportunity would suit someone with genuine pipe-fitting and pipe-welding experience who wants to broaden their skills beyond welding alone.

This is not a role where you will stand in a welding bay all day. Welding forms a smaller but important part of the position. Most of your time will be spent cutting, grooving, fitting, assembling, inspecting and preparing pipework for major commercial and industrial projects.

You'll work closely with an experienced senior technician who will train you in the company's full prefabrication process while supporting you through your first few months.

Your new role
Your initial period will focus on learning the complete prefabrication process. You'll work alongside the senior technician and wider prefab team to understand:

- Incoming pipe inspection requirements
- Pipe identification, materials and job specifications




- Reading technical drawings and production instructions
- Pipe measurement and preparation
- Cutting and roll-grooving processes
- Pipe fit-up and mechanical assembly
- Welding requirements for internal products
- Quality checks, tolerances and documentation
- Material-handling equipment
- Labelling, scanning and preparing completed work for delivery
- Workplace safety, 5S and housekeeping standards

Your existing pipe-welding capability will allow you to contribute early, but you will not be expected to know the company's complete production process from day one.

For approximately the first three months, your welding work will be supported and inspected by an experienced senior technician while you become familiar with the company's standards and products.

The welding component
Pipe-welding experience is important, but welding will not be your full-time activity. Some days may involve welding. Other days may be focused entirely on pipe preparation, cutting, grooving, fitting, inspection or assembly.

This role will suit someone who:

- Enjoys pipe welding but does not need to weld every hour of every day
- Wants to develop broader mechanical and prefab capability




- Is comfortable moving between different workshop tasks
- Takes pride in fit-up, preparation and quality - not only the finished weld
- Wants to build a long-term career within a growing production operation

You do not need to arrive with the specialist external welding ticket used for certain mining projects. You will, however, need to demonstrate genuine pipe-welding ability through a practical internal weld test.

What you'll need

- Genuine pipe-welding experience
- Experience preparing and fitting pipe before welding
- A relevant welding or trade qualification
- Confidence welding round pipe rather than only flat plate or structural steel
- Experience with carbon steel and/or stainless-steel pipe
- Ability to read drawings, measurements and job specifications
- Good hand-tool and mechanical assembly skills
- Strong attention to fit-up, quality and tolerances
- Willingness to learn cutting, grooving, inspection and assembly processes
- Ability to complete quality and production documentation accurately
- Reliable attendance and a strong safety mindset
- Ability to accept feedback and work under experienced supervision
- Australian working rights
- Ability to pass the required pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol test and police check

Forklift, crane or other material-handling experience will be highly regarded, but training can be provided on site-specific equipment and processes.
