About the Role:

We are seeking Paediatric Registrars/SRMOs for a short-term locum placement at a major regional referral hospital in northern NSW. This contract runs from 18 to 21 September 2026, offering an excellent rate with travel and accommodation covered. You will join one of the busiest and most comprehensive regional paediatric services in the state, gaining genuine breadth across acute inpatient paediatrics, neonatal medicine, emergency consultations and outpatient care.

- Provide inpatient care across an 18-bed paediatric and adolescent unit, managing medical and surgical presentations from 0-18 years
- Attend high-risk deliveries and provide neonatal resuscitation
- Manage neonates from 32 weeks' gestation or 1,500g within a Level 3 Special Care Nursery, including CPAP, phototherapy, sepsis management and feeding support
- Stabilise critically ill neonates and children prior to retrieval, working closely with state transport services
- Provide paediatric consultation to a busy regional emergency department
- Support outpatient clinics and contribute to a broad general paediatric service
- Work under consultant supervision within a supportive multidisciplinary team

About You:

- AHPRA registered Medical Practitioner
- Currently practising at Registrar or SRMO level in Paediatrics
- Confident in neonatal resuscitation and special care nursery management
- Comfortable managing a broad general paediatric caseload
- Works effectively both autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
- Eligible to work in Australia
