A unique opportunity has arisen to join Bidgel Grazing Co. as an Experienced Station Hand, with a focus on beef production and farm development. Be part of this supportive family-run business, and assist in the exciting growth phase of Elvanbrook and Dalkeith, as both properties emerge into the world of regenerative agriculture on this large-scale cattle enterprise. This position is suitable for single candidates only.

The Employer:
Located 90 km east of St George and 300 km west of Toowoomba, adjoining properties Elvanbrook and Dalkeith comprise 25,000 HA of regenerative grazing land. As part of a recent Soil Carbon initiative, the successful candidates will work alongside the farm owners to install and operate a large cell grazing scheme to promote vibrant pastures and biodiversity.

The Experienced Station Hand role is primarily livestock-focused, maintaining 1,800 Simmental, Santa Gertrudis and Angus breeders, in addition to growing out a further 1,800 weaners, all pasture-fed. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for all aspects of animal health and movement, including mustering with 2-wheeler motorbikes. Infrastructure includes modern, undercover cattle yards and laneway systems.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in fencing and able to install current water systems to support the expanding cell grazing operation. Essential requirements for this role include a sincere commitment to animal welfare and prior experience operating heavy machinery such as tractors, graders, and front-end loaders. Additionally, candidates must be capable of mustering on a two-wheel motorbike across challenging and rough terrain.

Toowoomba, known as the Garden City, is a mere three hours away, blending rural roots with modern influences, a city with a vibrant art scene and a growing coffee culture, rich in history and entertainment.

The Ideal Candidate
We seek a knowledgeable individual with 2- 5 years of experience in livestock and machinery who possesses a mature and respectful approach to both their professional and personal life. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess:

- Good communication skills, honesty, a strong work ethic, and a good sense of humour
- Have a positive, team-focused attitude
- A keen interest in project development
- A trade qualification would be considered advantageous
- Efficiency, reliability, and the ability to problem solve and be organised
- Maintain a good level of physical fitness to meet the role's demands
- A passion for regenerative agriculture
- Willingness to use MaiaGrazing, Optiweigh and Farmbot technology
