The opportunity

Calidus Group is partnering with one of Australia’s leading suppliers of PPE and industrial safety solutions to recruit a newly created Business Manager position.

Following the acquisition of an established Australian safety footwear brand, the business is making a significant investment in its next phase of growth. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a respected brand and help shape its future across product, market positioning, customer engagement and commercial performance.

This isn’t a traditional sales or product role. You’ll be the go-to person for the category, working across the business to connect product development, sourcing, marketing, sales and supply chain.

The role

As Business Manager, you’ll take end-to-end ownership of the safety footwear category and its performance. You’ll identify opportunities, turn customer and market insights into commercially sound decisions, and ensure the brand remains relevant and competitive.

Day to day:

- Developing and delivering the category and brand growth strategy
- Leading new product development and category innovation
- Managing product range, positioning, pricing and lifecycle decisions
- Identifying market trends, customer needs and new growth opportunities
- Building strong relationships with major distributors and end users




- Supporting sales teams with product knowledge, training and market insights
- Monitoring category performance, margin, inventory and commercial outcomes

About you

You’ll be a commercially minded product or category leader who enjoys taking ownership and making things happen. You’re equally comfortable developing strategy, working through product detail and engaging directly with major customers.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

- Experience in category management, product management or a similar commercial role
- Exposure to safety footwear nad PPE
- A strong understanding of product development and go-to-market strategy
- The ability to translate customer and market insights into commercial opportunities
- Experience working across sales, marketing, sourcing and supply chain
- Experience managing a P&L;
- A practical, hands-on approach with the confidence to influence at all levels
