Infrastructure Portfolio Management Officer (Capability)

A large Queensland Government department is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Portfolio Management Officer to join its Portfolio Management Office and play a key role in uplifting project and portfolio management capability across a significant infrastructure portfolio valued at approximately $2 billion annually.

This is an opportunity to work at the centre of large-scale infrastructure investment, helping establish best-practice project delivery frameworks, governance approaches, capability programs and continuous improvement initiatives.

About the Role You'll work closely with project and portfolio leaders to:

- Develop and improve portfolio and project management frameworks, methodologies and tools
- Drive capability uplift initiatives, including training, coaching and communities of practice
- Facilitate lessons learned and knowledge management activities
- Support assurance reviews, maturity assessments and governance improvements
- Analyse portfolio performance and identify opportunities to improve delivery outcomes




- Influence stakeholders and embed consistent project delivery practices across the organisation

About You To be successful, you will bring:

- Strong experience in portfolio management, program management or project delivery
- Experience within infrastructure, capital works, asset-intensive or complex delivery environments
- Expertise in project methodologies such as PMBOK, PRINCE2, MSP or similar
- Experience leading capability uplift, enablement or continuous improvement initiatives
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, facilitation and communication skills
- The ability to influence change and drive adoption of new ways of working

Highly Regarded

- Government, transport, utilities, health or similar sector experience
- PRINCE2, MSP, P3O or Lean/Six Sigma certifications
- Experience with project reporting and portfolio tools such as Power BI, SharePoint, MS Project and Excel

This role would suit a PMO Lead, Portfolio Analyst, Portfolio Coordinator, Project Capability Lead or Project Management skilled looking to move into a role focused on capability, governance and continuous improvement.
