Your new role
Due to continued investment in infrastructure and community development, our client is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of a diverse range of civil engineering projects, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.Key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering civil infrastructure projects from concept through to completion, including road construction, road rehabilitation, and storm-water drainage works.
- Developing project scopes, schedules, milestones, and key deliverables to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Preparing technical studies, engineering reports, specifications, and detailed cost estimates.
- Managing procurement activities, contract development, tender evaluations, and contract administration.
- Monitoring project performance, budgets, schedules, and contractor activities to ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Coordinating internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and community representatives throughout the project life cycle.
- Assessing and mitigating project risks, environmental impacts, and operational challenges.
- Reviewing engineering designs, construction methodologies, and project documentation.
- Preparing project status reports and maintaining accurate project records and databases.
- Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, environmental standards, Council policies, and relevant legislation.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this chance, you will possess:
- Qualifications: Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Civil Engineering Experience: Demonstrated experience in the design and construction of civil infrastructure projects, including roads, storm-water drainage, and transport-related works.
- Project Management Expertise: Proven ability to manage projects through all phases, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
- Contract Administration Skills: Experience preparing, administering, and managing civil construction contracts and procurement processes.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of relevant legislation, engineering standards, and construction practices.
- Software Proficiency: Experience using engineering and project management software such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, RapidPlan, or similar.
- Safety Commitment: Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety and best-practice environmental management.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Licences: Current Queensland Class C Driver Licence and General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
