The Role
- Location: On-site clinic in Darwin, NT.
- Eligible Titles: Psychologist, Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, Provisional Psychologist, Clinical Counsellor, or registered Psychologist.
- Core Duties: Deliver evidence-based, short-term psychotherapy and counselling to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
- Clinical Care: Conduct assessments, build tailored treatment plans,
maintain confidential records, and collaborate with administrative and clinical team members.
Ideal Applicant
- Strong alignment with a client-centred framework.
- Proven experience using solution-focused interventions (e.g., CBT, DBT, EFT).
- EMDR training is highly desirable (but training support is available if you are still completing it)
Qualifications & Registrations
- Education: Minimum degree qualified (or higher) in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or Psychotherapy.
- Professional Registration: Must hold (or be eligible for) one of the following:
- Psychologist: General registration with AHPRA.
- Social Worker: Registration with AASW as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker.
- Counsellor / Psychotherapist: Clinical Registration with PACFA or ACA.
Compliance & Eligibility
- Current Working with Children (WWC) Card (Ochre Card).
- Current National Criminal History Check.
Selection Criteria (Skills & Experience)
- Therapeutic Delivery: Proven experience delivering both individual and group therapy using evidence-based practices.
- Clinical Knowledge: Strong skills in mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and evaluating intervention strategies to suit individual client needs.
- Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to build strong therapeutic rapport.
- Ethics & Compliance: Deep understanding of professional ethics, privacy, and confidentiality, with a track record of maintaining accurate client records.
- Diversity & Inclusion: Experience working with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, CALD communities, the LGBTIQA+ community, and people with disabilities.
- Trauma-Informed Care: Practical experience working with trauma survivors and applying trauma-informed care principles (highly desirable).
