Traffic and Transport Planner
Fixed-Term (2 Years), Full Time Opportunity
$109,753 - $126,021 plus superannuation (depending on skills and experience)

We are looking for a Traffic and Transport Planner to join our Traffic and Transport team and contribute to the planning, coordination and delivery of strategic transport studies, plans and projects across the City of Mitcham.

The Role
Reporting to the Team Leader Traffic and Transport, you will manage and deliver strategic traffic and transport studies, plans and projects, including multi-stage studies, consultant coordination and community engagement.
You will provide specialist advice on traffic and transport matters, coordinate consultants and procurement activities, contribute to Council’s endorsed transport strategies and policies, and work with internal teams, government agencies, residents and community groups to support an integrated, safe and accessible local transport network.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent level of skills and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in traffic and transport planning, investigations or project delivery, ideally within local government or a similar environment.
- Knowledge of traffic and transport planning principles, practices, current trends and relevant legislation, codes, standards and guidelines.
- Strong project management skills.
- Experience managing consultants
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate, influence and build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- High level analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills, with a customer-focused and team-oriented approach.
- Experience preparing reports, briefings and funding submissions.
- Experience in Local Government will be highly regarded.
